As first reported by CLIFFVIEW PILOT, several cars were struck on Chandler Drive just before 8:30 p.m.

Area residents said five vehicles were hit, but Fair Lawn police today said the fifth was the driver’s 2009 Mercury, which that sustained “extensive damage to the front and side.”

The driver, 32-year-old Giuseppina Ciappina from Saddle Brook, “Ciappina lost control of her vehicle while negotiating the curve [onto Chandler Drive], striking the four (4) parked cars as a result,” Sgt. Richard Schultz said in this morning’s release.

Ciappina was charged with DWI and reckless driving and released “to the care of a friend,”  She is scheduled for a Feb. 27 Municipal Court hearing.

There were no reported injuries, Schultz said.
