The 2007 Honda Accord was tailgating another vehicle in the left lane of the westbound highway near Hyatt Place just after 11 p.m. when the driver lost control while trying to pass, Sgt. Brian Metzler told Daily Voice.

The Accord swerved into the left lane, struck the center divider, then spun across the highway and slammed into a guardrail he said.

The 58-year-old driver, an Oak Ridge man, was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center with neck pain, the sergeant said.
