One will remain anonymous, PBA Local 67 President Luis Vasquez told Daily Voice.
The other is the Walsh family, founders of the Jackson Strong Foundation for children with pediatric cancer.
Tara and Ryan Walsh's son, Jackson, was diagnosed with neuroblastoma only two weeks after he was born on Oct. 14 of last year.
Four rounds of chemotherapy, a liver biopsy, a broviac placement, five sedated MRI's, a bone marrow aspiration, four blood transfusions and three platelet transfusions later, Jackson was in remission.
Earlier this month, Jackson had some mucucs trouble and had to be intubated for scans. But the Walshes said their son came through just fine -- except for a sore throat.
January will mark a year in remission, with scans increasing to every six months.
Meanwhile, the Walshes are doing all they can for other parents dealing with pediatric cancer -- with help from their friends in blue.
