Family members were home but a little girl wasn’t in the room when Fair Lawn police said they found a homeless convicted burglar under her bed, carrying a knife, change and her jewelry box, before dawn yesterday.

The mother called police to the Harrison Drive home at 3:45 a.m., saying she believed someone was in the house, Sgt. Brian Metzler said.

The officers found 56-year-old Kenneth Webb soon after, he said.

Webb had apparently opened an unlocked window and cut a screen to get in, Metzler said. The sergeant said he also broke into another Harrison Drive home that belonged to a family member.

Webb was released from state prison last September after serving nearly two years for a pair of Fair Lawn burglaries in 2011 and 2012, records show.

He was being held on $35,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with burglary and weapons offenses.
