Nicholas Petrizzi was taken into custody on 32nd Street after giving Officer Stephen Buskiewicz false information just before noon Friday, Sgt. Brian Metzler said this morning.

Police later found jewelry that was suspected stolen in his car, parked three blocks away, he said.

Ownership of the jewelry hadn’t been determined, the sergeant added.

Petrizzi was being held on $10,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with two counts of attempted burglary, hindering apprehension, possession of burglary tools and receiving stolen property.
