FAIR LAWN, N.J. -- Officers responding to a report of two people sleeping in a car arrested a 58-year-old woman and her wanted ex-con son after finding them with heroin, Fair Lawn police said.

Officers responding to the call at the Shop Rite underground parking lot on River Road the afternoon of Oct. 10 took Colleen Burke Spineto and her son, Nicholas, 29, into custody after finding the drugs and paraphernalia, Police Sgt. Brian Metzler said.

The younger Spineto was also wanted on warrants out of Saddle Brook and Montvale, he said.

The 6-foot, 225-pound Nichoas Burke Spineto, who has served time in state prison for drugs, remained held on a combined $26,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail. He was charged with having the drugs and the paraphernalia and with being under the infuence.

His mother was released on a court summons charging her with both possession counts.
