Police got the call around 9:45 last night from the dealer’s mother, who said her son was in the area of Sasso Field at Fair Lawn High School when he was jacked.

Officers headed to the boy’s home received information about what both mean were wearing and which way they were headed, Sgt. Richard Schultz said.

Speaking with the boy and his parents, Detective Lt. Michael Uttel and Detective Jeffrey Welsh learned about the drug deal.

Both men showed up with their faces covered and robbed the dealer instead, Schultz said.

Police then headed to the Grunauer Place home where both men live and arrested them.

Jose J. Narvaez, 18, and Antwain L. Steed, 19, were being held on $100,000 bail each in the Bergen County Jail, charged with robbery and marijuana possession. Narvaez is charged with illegal weapons possession, as well.

An Oct. 24 Municipal Court appearance was scheduled.
