The Fair Lawn Volunteer Ambulance Corps took the borough boy to The Valley Hospital after he was struck by the 1998 Nissan Maxima on River Road at 6:45 p.m., Sgt. Brian Metzler said.
A CT scan and several X-rays were taken, all of which proved negative, the boy's mother, JoAnn Licchi Dutzar, told Daily Voice on Wednesday.
"He has two gashes on his head -- one on top and the other on the back of his head," she said. "He has a severely bruised and sprained right ankle, his left knee is swollen but not broken and he has road rash from head to toe."
The driver, who was making a right from Berdan Avenue, received a summons for failure to yield the right of way and careless driving, Metzler said.
Witnesses said the driver, who also lives in the borough, continued on before being stopped at a nearby convenience store. They also pointed out a "No Turn On Red" sign at the light where the driver turned.
