Fair Lawn Heavy Rescue squad cuts pinned driver from SUV

YOU SAW IT HERE FIRST: Members of the Fair Lawn Heavy Rescue Squad used the “Jaws of Life” to free a driver who was pinned inside his SUV after it was rammed by a sedan this afternoon.

The Mercury Mountaineer and Mercury Milan collided shortly after 3 o’clock at the intersection of Hopper Avenue and 5th Street, with the front of the sedan slamming into the driver’s side door.

Ambulances took both drivers to local hospitals.

Fair Lawn Fire Company #1 assisted with the extrication.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene by flatbed.

There was no immediate word on possible summonses.
