Deal could get Garfield vandal busted twice for drugs out in 9 months

ONLY ON CVP: A 19-year-old Garfield man who was busted by undercover detectives while out on bail for a previous drug arrest could end up serving nine months of a three-year sentence after pleading guilty to reduced charges stemming from a trio of indictments.

Mitchell Pillot was awaiting the outcome of separate drug-dealing charges when he also wrote his name in wet cement on a new Garfield sidewalk last October, his attorney, Ron Bar-Nadav, told CLIFFVIEW PILOT tonight.

“It didn’t take police long to figure out who it was,” he said.

Pillot earlier made four drug sales in all to investigators — one of which led to his arrest with 115 bags of heroin stamped “skull candy” outside a local school, said Bar-Nadav, who secured the plea deal with prosecutors.

Pillot remains free pending sentencing.
