The program, organized by the Bergen County Police Chiefs Association and the Bergen County PBA Conference, honored those officers from the county who have died in the line of duty.

All gathered at a police memorial monument that bears 40 names.

Several spoke — including Bergen County Chiefs Association President James Batelli (Mahwah/photo below: left), county PBA Chairman Mark Butler (Ridgewood/middle), county Sheriff Michael Saudino (photo, below: right) and Jack Terhune, president of the 200 Club. Dais attendees included county Police Chief Brian Higgins and county Executive Kathleen Donovan.

DEA helicopters did a flyover during the ceremony.

The memorial list includes:

Paramus Officer Vincent Brock, killed in a 2007 crash on Route 4 while headed to what turned out to be a false alarm;

Fair Lawn Officer Mary Ann Collura, gunned down on the grounds of the Van Riper Ellis Broadway Baptist Church after coming to the aid of a fellow officer trying to arrest a murderous ex-con 11 years ago;

Teaneck Sgt. John Abraham, killed in a 2010 crash outside police headquarters — hours after he saved a choking restaurant patron.
