Agents with the U.S. Department of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Homeland Security Investigations arrested Joshua Babilonia after executing a search warrant at the Morlot Avenue house in September 2012.

The laptop held “a vast number” of child porn images that involve “prepubescent minors, as well as material that portrays sadistic or masochistic conduct,” including 200 videos that stretch to nearly 44 hours, federal authorities said.

Babilonia also shared nearly 150 images online, including videos of men having intercourse with young girls and boys, a complaint on file in U.S. District Court in Newark says.

Babilonia, who had been free on $50,000 bail, admitted four months ago that he was a member of an online network on which he searched for and downloaded the images between January 2011 and when he was arrested.

In addition to the prison term, Babilonia must serve five years of supervised release, pay restitution of $6,000 and register as a Megan’s Law sex offender.

U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman credited special agents of ICE HSI with investigating the case, prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Danielle M. Corcione of his office’s General Crimes Unit in Newark.
