FAIR LAWN, N.J. – Loretta G. Farah, a resident of Fair Lawn, died Wednesday, Jan. 13. She was 91.
Farah was a restaurateur, managing several establishments, including Christy’s Townhouse in West Nyack, N.Y., and the Showcase in Cresskill. She later became a real estate broker in northern New Jersey. She also was active throughout her early married years in the Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Company in Ridgewood. She was a conservatory-trained pianist and singer.
She is survived by her children, Loretta DeSopo of Burlington County, John Farah of northern New Jersey and Joseph Farah of northern Virginia; son-in-law Carmine DeSopo; daughter-in-law Suzanne Farah; and daughter-in-law Elizabeth Farah. She also is survived by eight grandchildren, Christine Marro, married to Robert Marro; C.J. DeSopo; Robert DeSopo, married to Meredith DeSopo; Ashley Karis, married to Mark Karis, Alana Farah, Alyssa Farah, Kathleen Farah and Grace Farah. She had nine great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband John J. Farah and parents Arthur and Ida Comeau, the former Ida Jacques.
