John Gleason, 89, Fair Lawn Resident

FAIR LAWN, N.J. – John Gleason, of Fair Lawn, died Friday, March 11. He was 89.

He was born Dec. 25, 1926, in New York City. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Prior to retiring, he was a commercial broker.

He is survived by his daughter, Linda, and her husband, Bob of Mahwah; his son, Jack, and his wife, Kathy, of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.; his son, Michael, and his wife Michelle, of Mountain Lakes; grandchildren Sean, Holly, Ryan, Catherine, Emma, Maggie and Charlie; brothers Thomas Gleason and Robert Gleason and his wife, Judy; brother-in-law Dr. Leon Lucyk and his wife Pam; sisters-in-law Ann Lucyk and Joan Lucyk; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Eleanore (Lucyk).

The family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Vander Plaat-Caggiano Funeral Home, 13-31 Saddle River Road, Fair Lawn. A funeral Mass will take place at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church, 15-05 St Anne St., Fair Lawn. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.
