Lutz is survived by his wife, Colleen, and his two children, Riley and Brayden. He grew up in Secaucus and also lived in Little Falls and Elmwood Park.
He was a supervisor with Braen Supply Co. of Wanaque.
More than $3,100 had been raised as of Tuesday on a GoFundMe launched by Lutz' children's preschool.
"We are heartbroken for them," the page says, "and anything we give will mean so much to helping the kids through this painful time."
