Manuel Ludizaca, 53, of Hackensack was driving a 2004 GMC street sweeper owned by Christie Cleaning Service that crashed into the pole on Lincoln Avenue just before 1:30 a.m., Sgt. Sean Macys told Daily Voice.
The toppled pole yanked down high voltage power lines and fiber-optic cables, knocking out power to various homes and businesses overnight, the sergeant said.
Both Verizon and PSE&G responded.
Summonses and charges against Ludizaca were pending, Macys said.
