As part of a statewide initiative to enhance its reliability, the company will be installing taller, sturdier utility poles in Hawthorne and Glen Rock, along Route 208 North and South at the Lincoln Avenue overpass from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.  Friday through Sunday.

The work will require lane closures in both directions of Route 208  Friday and Saturday during evening and overnight hours. Officials said workers will attempt to keep noise to a minimum.

In a statement at its website, the company said safety is its main concern.

"PSE&G will work with the boroughs of Hawthorne and Glen Rock police departments to minimize any traffic concerns or inconveniences to the public," the statement said. "We do not anticipate any interruption of electric service. During construction, please refrain from going near our construction work zones."
