The lawsuit alleges the Village of Ridgewood used its Water Utility to transfer substantial Village operating costs that are wholly unrelated to the operations of the Water Utility onto ratepayers in Glen Rock, Wyckoff and Midland Park.

Ridgewood supplies water to these neighboring towns and has raised its rates by 37 percent in the last seven years, according to the lawsuit. The Plaintiffs are seeking a full refund of the rate increase.

The trial is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, April 5 and is expected to last approximately two weeks.
