The 17-year-old, a GRVAC member, has raised $144 so far out of his Roxbury Place Halloween spectacular.

“When I joined the ambulance corps I felt that we needed more funding,” he said. “I thought this would be good to turn into a fundraiser.”

It’s been a fun engineering project for the teen, too.

He uses PVC piping and a large roll of black tarp to create the “house” and loads it up with spooky props.

Shiels has commissioned some of his friends to dress up and hide in the walls.

The Glen Rock Haunted House comes with a suggested donation of $5 and will be open Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m. and on Halloween at 15 Roxbury Place.
