Steve Quilliam and Cooper, 6, will be bringing their long-running "Souper Cooper" project to the Fair Lawn Dutch House every Tuesday evening, with pick-up from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

"The premise is that you are welcome to come pick up soup weekly," said Quilliam, "then distribute it to someone who's sick and will benefit from it."

It started three years ago once Cooper took an interest in helping his father in the kitchen.

They took to delivering bowls of homemade chicken noodle soup, lentil stew and pumpkin kale creations to neighbors and people who they knew needed some cheering up.

"It was great bonding time," said Quilliam, who owns Grateful Doggies Rescue and Transport.

"Soup is such a nice gesture and is great for everything from health, the soul and spirit."

Quilliam hopes to distribute much more soup this year, now that he's teamed up with the Drahouzal Family of Wyckoff at the Dutch House.
