The Fair Lawn resident opened the "real-life, adventure and mystery game," she said.

Like books and movies, the game tells a story, she said, and can make people feel like they're part of those stories.

"In my room, players will discover an interesting story of two adventurers that will transport the players to the early 1900’s," Umansky said. "That is how 'The Other Tales – Escape Rooms' differs from many other rooms out there that focus mainly on puzzles."

A small team of players work together on a set of connected puzzles, and they need to solve the game in under one hour.

The mother of three has a passion for playing games — specifically computer games — which she's been making for more than a decade.

"Unlike computer games, all puzzles in Escape Rooms are physical," she explained. "People have to explore the environment, find clues, and only then they can solve puzzles."
