FAIR LAWN, N.J.– The Fair Lawn Arts Council is inviting children to create an original puppet and bring it to life at a Sept. 18 workshop.

The event takes place from 1-3 p.m. at the Fair Lawn Community Center/George Frey Center for Arts and Recreation art room.

The workshop is open to all ages, though participants must be borough residents. The council will provide some materials so attendees can create an original puppet. There is no limit to the number of puppets that can be made or presented.

There will be a puppet show from 1-3 p.m. Sept. 25 at the Maurice M. Pine Public Library's reference room (level D). To present a puppet or perform a three- to five-minute show, register by e-mailing flartscouncil@gmail.com.

The council requests a name and e-mail address or phone number. Those who can't make the workshop are still invited to the show.

The goal of the Fair Lawn Arts Council is to promote the arts to Fair Lawn residents of all ages free or at a nominal cost, according to the organization.
