Friends Nick Joannidis and Brad Vaccaro created the "Battle of the Sexes 5K," which will take place on June 12 at 8:30 a.m.

Though it will be the men against the women, "every runner counts," the duo said.

They will all receive prizes and discounts from the stores in the Fair Lawn Promenade, where the race begins.

Vaccaro also lives in The Promenade and said "what a great place to start a 5k."

He runs the Your First Mud Run series of races. Joannidis is the head coach at Nick's Complete Running Coaching.

The Battle of the Sexes 5k is certified by USA Track and Field
