After just one season, the market is closing up shop -- with one year left in its contract.
Market founder Alison Bloomfield blamed election year politics, saying it added pressure, according to NorthJersey.com.
"It was death by a thousand cuts," she told NorthJersey.com, adding that the borough did not do enough to help publicize the market.
The GRFM opened September 2016 as a trial run and then officially in June 2017. It was open Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 1 Harding Plaza near Boro Hall.
“It seems it did not matter how far they went, how much they complied with our procedures,” Mayor Bruce Packer told TapInto.net
“It was never enough."
Councilman Arthur Pazan opined that if the chamber were selected, there would have not been a problem, according to TapInto.
