Man Struck By Newark Fire Truck: Police A man was struck by a fire truck on Newark on the evening of Thursday, Nov. 2, authorities said. The adult male pedestrian was near Summit Street and Warren Street when he was hit at 7:47 p.m., Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. He was taken to University Hospital and is in stable condition, Fragé said The incident remains under investigation, Fragé said.

Ambrose announces that a number of streets will be closed from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday due to a film production. Three-Alarm Fire Rips Through Vacant School In Newark Nearly 90 firefighters battled a three-alarm blaze at the American History High School building in Newark Wednesday, Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose said in a statement.  The fire broke out at the vacant school on Warren Street around 12:30 p.m. It was brought under control in about 90 minutes, Ambrose said.  A fire firefighter suffered a minor injury and was treated at University Hospital.  The cause of the fire was under investigation.
