Plainfield Man Arrested In Fatal Shooting Of Star Football Player: Prosecutors Maurice Pierce, 23-year-old Plainfield man was arrested on Monday, Sept. 25 and charged with murder in the shooting death of Jameer Outsey, a former college football player, back in August, authorities said. On Sunday, Aug. 12, Elizabeth police responded to North Broad Street and Magnolia Avenue and found Outsey, a Bridgewater resident, suffering from a gunshot wound, Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel, Elizabeth Police Director Earl Graves, and Elizabeth Police Chief Giacomo Sacca said. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, authorities said. Pierce …

NJ Star Football Player Jameer Outsey Shot Dead A former New Jersey football star was shot dead over the weekend, authorities announced. Jameer Outsey, a three-year letterman at Franklin Township High School (Class of 2014), was fatally shot in Elizabeth on Saturday, Aug. 12, prosecutors said. The 27-year-old former athlete was hospitalized after being shot at North Broad Street and Magnolia Avenue, and subsequently pronounced dead, the Union County Prosecutor's Office said. Former Rutgers Football Player Ryan Keeler Dies, 20 Former Rutgers football player Ryan Keeler, who transferred to UNLV last year, died Monday in Las Vegas, both schools  announced.  Keeler, 20, was a member of the Scarlet Knights’ 2021 recruiting class.  A cause of death has not been reported.
