Body Found In Weequahic Park
A body was found in a Newark park amid frigid temperatures this weekend, officials said. The discovery was made around noon Saturday, Jan. 20 in Weequahic Park in Newark, a spokesperson for the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said. No further information was released. The investigation remains active. Located in the city's South Ward, Weequahic Park spans more than 311 acres and features New Jersey's first golf course, according to the county parks' website.

Male Body Found In Newark Dumpster: Prosecutors
A body of a man was found in a dumpster in Newark on Thursday, Sept. 28, authorities said. At 5:19 p.m., Newark police found the body inside a dumpster on the 600 block of Clinton Avenue, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II and Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, Stephens and Fragé said. The man remains unidentified, Stephens and Fragé said. Authorities are investigating after a body was found in Newark on Thursday, Sept. 7. At 2:45 p.m., Newark police received a report of human remains found on the 400 block of Elizabeth Avenue, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. A body was recovered from the Raritan River in Central Jersey, NJ Advance Media reported. New Brunswick police and firefighters discovered the unidentified man's body near Boyd Park, around 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19, a city official told the outlet. Police are hoping that a unique tattoo resembling a solar eclipse will help them identify a body found off the coast New Jersey coast last month. The New Jersey State Police Marine Services Bureau responded to reports of a body found about a mile off the shoreline of Sea Bright (Monmouth County) just before 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 29. Decomposed Body Found In Abandoned Newark Building
A body was found in an abandoned Newark building Wednesday afternoon. Police responded to the 100 block of Rose Street where the unidentified body was found around 3 p.m., Newark Public Safety Director Brian O’Hara said. Unconfirmed reports say workers found the decomposed body in a confined space. Newark firefighters and EMS also responded. The incident remains under investigation. Public Awaits ID Of Drowning Victim Pulled From Hudson
A man whose body was found floating in the Hudson River off lower Manhattan had yet to be publicly identified on Tuesday. The NYPD Harbor Unit pulled his body from the drink near North Moore Street in Tribeca, across from Jersey City's Harborside section, shortly before 10:30 a.m. Monday. Suspicions followed -- but had yet to be confirmed -- that he was a 68-year-old man who jumped from Pier 45 near Christopher Street during a public dance event and vanished into the river last Tuesday.

Unidentified Man's Body Found In Clifton Garage Fire
Authorities were trying to identify a man whose body was found following a garage fire in Clifton. The man's body was found in a car parked in the detached garage behind a 2½-story home at 44 Seger Ave. Wednesday, they said. Firefighters doused the heavily-involved blaze, which was called in at 5:42 p.m. No other injuries were reported. The cause hadn't officially been determined, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes, Clifton Police Chief Thomas Rinaldi and Clifton Fire Chief Frank Prezioso said in a brief release. An investigation was continuing.

Police are seeking the public’s help identifying the man whose body was found in a North Jersey state forest. A hunter found the body Dec. 8 in a wooded patch in Stokes State Forest approximately 300 yards off of Tower Trail in Sandyston Township, Sussex County, State Police said. Authorities are seeking the public's help identifying a man whose body was found in the Passaic River last month. Belleville police found the unresponsive man possibly in his 30s floating in the river around 7:35 a.m. on Aug. 20, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II said. The man was pulled onto the embankment by the North Arlington Fire rescue with help from North Arlington firefighters, and pronounced dead at the scene at 8:15 a.m., Stephens said. Man's Body Found Floating In Passaic River
A body was found floating in the Passaic River Thursday morning, authorities said. The man's body was spotted from a portion of Route 21 in Belleville around 8 a.m., Essex County Prosecutor's Office Spokeswoman Katherine Carter said. Police on scene of a minor motor vehicle crash then reported the body in the river, bringing Nutley and North Arlington fire departments to the scene, initial reports say. The prosecutor's office is investigating.
