Granite Spill Temporarily Closes Route 46 Bridge
A noontime mishap closed the Route 46 bridge over the Hackensack River on Monday. The delay was temporary after a truck carrying granite and quartz spilled most of its load on the 89-year-old span between Little Ferry and Ridgefield Park on March 13. A New Jersey Department of Transportation crew with a front-end loader and dump truck cleaned up the spill and the road was reopened. No injuries were reported.

A Friday morning brush fire was causing traffic delays on Route 287 in Morris County, authorities said. The fire broke out in the southbound lanes south of exit 40 to Route 511 in Parsippany shortly before 9:45 a.m., according to 511NJ. Fire crews in Parsippany and Whippany, as well as the New Jersey Forest Fire Service, were working to douse the blaze, initial reports said. Jackknifed Tractor-Trailer Backs Up Route 80 In Morris County
A jackknifed tractor-trailer shut down Route 80 westbound Tuesday morning, authorities said. The tractor-trailer collided with a tanker truck and jackknifed at milepost 41 in Parsippany around 9:50 a.m., NJSP Alejandro Goez told Daily Voice. Four of five right lanes were closed for cleanup following the crash, Goez said. Major delays were reported. No serious injuries occurred in the crash, which remained under investigation.

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a Toyota Friday afternoon while walking on the Garden State Parkway in Ocean County, authorities said. Morris County Rollover Crash Shuts Down Route 80, Injures Both Drivers, State Police Say
Both drivers were injured — one of them seriously — after a Sunday evening rollover crash on Route 80 in Morris County, state police said. Route 80 was backed up Friday morning after a tractor trailer overturned spilling fuel across the highway. All lanes were closed near Exit 34 - NJ 15 as of 10:30 a.m., according to 511nj.org. The incident occurred around 4:45 a.m. Photos show the trailer hanging off the guardrail. Delays of 90 minutes were reported. Motorists urged to plan alternate routes during rush hours.
