Authorities Probe Bomb Threat At Newark High School Authorities Probe Bomb Threat At Newark High School
Authorities Probe Bomb Threat At Newark High School Police and fire departments rushed to a high school in Newark Tuesday morning, where a bomb threat was allegedly called in, authorities said.  The threat was made at Science Park High School (260 Norfolk St.) just after 11 a.m., a Newark Dept. of Public Safety spokesperson told Daily Voice. Essex County canine detection units were also called to the scene. No explosives were located, and no injuries had been reported, authorities said. The incident remained under investigation.

Bomb Threats Reported At Newark's Science High School: Developing Several bomb threats have been reported this week at Newark high school, developing reports say. Science Park High School received one threat Wednesday afternoon and another was being reported (but unconfirmed) Thursday morning. A student at the Norfolk Street school apparently received a bomb threat from an unknown person around 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, bringing police to the school. The Essex County Bomb Disposal Unit canvassed the school and did not locate any explosive devices.  Thursday's incident was not immediately confirmed. No injuries have been reported. Community Rallying For Teen Girl From Newark Battling Rare Brain Condition A 13-year-old student at Newark's Science Park High School is coping with Brain AVM  (arteriovenous malformation) and a family friend has launched a GoFundMe campaign to help defray recovery expenses.  Emilia Santos is a "fantastic student" who, along with her mom Dina, are "pillars of the community," the campaign's organizer wrote.
