Paramus firefighters extricated the driver of a pickup truck following a rollover crash on Route 4 in front of Wendy's early Tuesday. The crash left the truck on its side, the driver pinned and the eastbound highway closed near Paramus Road shortly after 7 a.m. Nov. 14. Traffic on the westbound side thickened with rubberneckers. Paramus Resident Rescues Elderly Neighbor From House Fire
A Paramus home was filling with smoke when a kind and courageous resident rescued an elderly neighbor. The Nov. 4 afternoon blaze apparently ignited in a microwave of the Willard Road home near Midland Avenue. It then spread to kitchen cabinets and eventually into the attic. A crash at a busy Paramus intersection sent an occupant to the hospital with a broken arm and facial injuries, responders said. The woman was in a Honda CRV that broadsided a Tesla at Paramus Road and West Midland Avenue around 1:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9. Another occupant and a small dog in the Honda escaped injury.
