Faye, a 35-year-old Weehawken resident and a native of Senegal, was killed in a car crash on Sunday, July 9 in Newark at U.S. Route 1 and 9 North and McClellan Street. One Killed, Two Injured in Newark Car Crash
One person was killed and two people were injured in a two-car crash on the early morning of Sunday, July 9, authorities said. Police responded to a two-car crash on U.S. Route 1 and 9 North and McClellan Street at 3:24 a.m., Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II and Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. Cheikh Faye, a 35-year-old Weehawken resident and a driver of one car, was pronounced dead at the scene, Stephens and Fragé said. Man Dies In Single-Car Crash On Route 1&9 Near Newark Airport
A man died in a crash on Route 1&9 Wednesday evening near Newark International Airport. The single-car crash occurred just before 6 p.m. under the McClellan Street underpass, and the adult male driver was pronounced dead at 6:17 p.m., Newark Public Safety Director Brian O’Hara said. The northbound express lanes were closed for investigation. No further information was available.
