At 6:21 p.m., Newark police responded to a shooting on the 700 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard and found Sabree Gannt outside suffering from gunshot wounds, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Officers responding to a report of shots fired in the area of Spruce Street and Martin Luther King Boulevard just before 9 p.m. found Michael Rutledge, 34, laying on the sidewalk, according to Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Update: Seven Shot, One Killed Within Minutes In Newark Tuesday Afternoon UPDATE, 7 p.m. -- Newark police said one of the victims, a male, was killed in the shooting at Martin Luther King Boulevard. Two females suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Also, about five minutes after the first shooting, a total of four males were wounded by gunfire at 200 South Orange Avenue.
