Custodian Finds Spent Ammo In Morris County Middle School Hallway A custodian found a spent ammunition round in the hallway of a Morris County middle school, authorities said. The discovery was made at Chatham Middle School on Monday, May 1, according to local police. The shell casing was turned over to the principal and School Resource Officer Brian Stanton who immediately notified the police department. There was no imminent threat reported; however, out of an abundance of caution, a shelter in place was implemented while the Chatham Borough Police and Morris County Sheriff’s Department (Emergency Services Unit and K9) conducted a search of the school…

NJ Transit Police Rescue Dog Struck By Light Rail New Jersey Transit officers rushed to the aid of a dog pinned under the Newark Light Rail last week. Patrol, K9 and ESU officers found the injured dog under the train on Friday. ⁣All worked together to remove the cold and injured dog without further trauma. They stabilized the canine and rushed it to an appropriately suited K9 vehicle for its transport to an animal hospital.  "Now this pup has promising potential for a full recovery and a good reminder to keep off the tracks," NJTPD said.
