Union County officials are expected to be presented with a check made out for $8 million in state funding that will go toward renovations to an indoor ice skating rink at the Warinanco Sports Center in Roselle. The Pittsburgh Penguins sale to Fenway Sports Group has moved closer to being an official deal just days after the announcement of the possible sale was made, according to WPXI. The FSG board along with the Penguins board, have approved the sale of the team, according to the outlet citing a source close to the Penguins. Boy, 5, Airlifted After Being Hit By Puck At Hopatcong Roller Hockey Rink
A 5-year-old boy was airlifted with traumatic injuries after he was hit in the head by a puck at a Hopatcong hockey rink, authorities said. Emergency crews responded to the Hopatcong Roller Hockey Rink and found the boy bleeding profusely from the head around 12:50 p.m. Sunday, local police said. The boy was pale and could not respond to verbal commands as officers determined that he had gone into shock, police said. New Jersey sports gamblers bet a nationwide record $668 million last month, officials said.
