Highway Robbery: Armed Duo Sought In Overnight Gas Station Holdup Spree In Bergen, Passaic Two bandits robbed multiple gas stations in Bergen and Passaic counties at gunpoint shortly before dawn on Sunday, responders said. The BP on eastbound Route 3 in Clifton was held up at 5 a.m. Jan. 7. One of the robbers had a handgun, the attendant told police. Less than 10 minutes later a similar gunpoint robbery occurred at the Shell station on northbound Route 3 off the corner of Malcolm Avenue. The baby girl, Chinna Payne, was unharmed, initial police reports say. Damion Payne, 27, was accused of abducting the girl at gunpoint, according to a BOLO (Be On The Lookout) alert issued at 2:37 p.m. He then fled in a white Nissan Altima with Virginia plates, police said. Payne was reportedly located on South Munn Avenue, in East Orange.

The female collector was held at gunpoint robbed of the cash in her register by an individual in an older model BMW Saturday afternoon, State Police Trooper Charles Marchan said. The incident occurred at the interchange 14 in Newark around 2:15 p.m. The toll collector was not injured.  "This is an active investigation and there is no further information available at the moment," Marchan said.

Police: Newark Teens Used Instagram To Lure Armed Robberies Victims Police in Newark arrested 16- and 17-year-old males who they say used Instagram to lure the two victims they robbed at gunpoint.  The teens posed as a female on Instagram to lure two victims to a home near the 400 block of Irvine Turner Blvd. on Thursday, Jan. 23, according to police. They robbed one man at his own house around noon, and another that same day around 8 p.m., authorities said. Both teens were charged with several weapons offenses, robbery, conspiracy and possession of marijuana.
