A 41-year-old North Carolina man was killed in a multi-car crash on the Garden State Parkway in Essex County early Wednesday, April 17, authorities said. Tarron Francis was heading north in a Nissan SUV when he was struck by a Dodge passenger vehicle around 12:45 a.m. in Irvington, said Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police. An intoxicated van driver who led Wayne police on a wild chase following the recent rainstorm claimed to be in Kinnelon when they reached him on his cellphone when he was actually trying to flee on foot through the floodwaters, authorities said. A 77-year-old Linden man was killed in a car crash on Tuesday, Oct. 3, police said. Police responded to N Wood Avenue and West Gibbons Street after a GMC SUV making a lefthand turn collided with a Chevy SUV, officers said.. PA Driver Dies, Driver Changing Tire Hurt In Atlantic City Expressway Crash
A Pennsylvania driver died and another changing a tire on the side of the Atlantic City Expressway was seriously hurt in a crash Friday, Aug. 26, authorities said. The pedestrian was changing a tire on a Ford Explorer in the right shoulder when a GMC Yukon driven by Steven Ray Davis Jr, 43, of Downingtown, PA, crashed into the Ford and overturned, New Jersey State Police Trooper Brandi Slota said. The incident happened at milepost 36.3 in Winslow Township around 10 p.m., police said. Davis was pronounced dead while the pedestrian was treated for serious injuries at a local hospital.

Police in Denville are asking for the public’s help identifying a truck driver involved in a hit-and-run crash. An older, white man driving a white GMC pickup truck struck another car in the municipal building parking lot just before 4 p.m. July 7, Denville police said in a release. The driver got out of his truck, examined the damage to the other vehicle before getting back inside and driving away, authorities said. Englewood Motorcyclist, 50, Killed In Turnpike Ramp Crash
A 50-year-old motorcyclist from Englewood was killed in a crash on Route 278 in Union County over the weekend, state police said. Shawn Palmer was on the Route 278 ramp to the NJ Turnpike when he struck a concrete barrier on the right side of the road around 7 p.m. Saturday, Trooper Alejandro Goez told Daily Voice. Palmer was ejected from his Kawasaki and fell from the elevated roadway onto a portion of Route 278, and was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. The motorcycle hit a GMC box truck, Goez said. The truck driver was uninjured, the trooper said.
