A 2.6 aftershock was recorded in Somerset County on Wednesday, April 10, according to the United States Geological Survey. The earthquake was recorded 5 km southwest of Gladstone, with more than 430 people telling the USGS they could feel something shaking.  The aftershocks come in the wake of a 4.8 earthquake that originated in Whitehouse Station and shook up the Northeast. Train Kills Pedestrian In Somerset County A pedestrian was struck and killed by a train in Somerset County, officials confirmed. The crash involving Gladstone Branch Train 440 occurred just before 10:50 p.m. Wednesday, July 27 in Far Hills, NJ Transit officials said. No injuries to the three customers or crew members were reported. The train was scheduled to arrive in Hoboken at 12:22 p.m. Gladstone Branch was temporarily suspended between Bernardsville and Gladstone but has since resumed. New Jersey Transit Police are leading the investigation.

The unidentified pedestrian was hit by Gladstone Branch Train No. 419 around 1:40 p.m. near the Valley Avenue Bridge in Berkeley Heights, the agency said in a release.
