Knife-Wielding Man Shot By Newark Police: Prosecutors
A 22-year old Newark man was shot by police on the morning of Thursday, Dec. 28 after he threatened them with a knife, police said. Quadir Harvey suffered non-life threatening injuries in the shooting, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II and Essex County Sheriff Armando Fontoura said. At 5:30 a.m., Mercer County detectives attempted to execute an arrest warrant for Harvey on the 100 block of Camden Street, but Harvey barricaded himself inside his residence, armed with a knife Stephens and Fontoura said.
