Police originally attempted to stop Deyah Shaabneh on Wednesday, April 24, when officers saw his vehicle had a fake license plate, Fairfield police said. Police ID Pedestrian, 32, Killed By Car In Central Jersey A 32-year-old pedestrian died after being struck by a car in Central Jersey. Matthew H. Brunner, of East Brunswick, was struck by the vehicle at the intersection of Cranbury Road and Henly Drive around 8:15 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1, East Brunswick police said. Brunner was critically injured and later pronounced dead. The driver and passenger of the vehicle were uninjured and remained at the scene of the crash. 13-Year-Old Boy Dies After Falling Through Ice On East Brunswick Pond Despite an heroic rescue effort by police and firefighters, a 13-year-old boy died after falling through the ice Wednesday night on an East Brunswick pond, authorities said. Yusef Khela was playing with two other children near police headquarters on Civic Center Drive when they all fell in shortly before 5 p.m., township police said. Two got out of the water, but the third became trapped.
