A Dollar General in Newark was robbed at gunpoint on Sunday, July 21, authorities said.
At 8:29 a.m., a man entered Dollar General at 420 Springfield Avenue through the right side rear entrance and demanded cash from the cashier, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. The suspect gestured he had a handgun and assaulted the employee on her left side, Fragé said.

On Sunday, June 16, at 4:57 a.m., police spotted a teen breaking into an Audi Q5 and Jeep Wrangler, parked at a residence on the 600 block of 4th Street, Secaucus Police Chief Dennis Miller said. The teen ran toward an awaiting Kia Sportage, filled with occupants wearing ski masks, and flee the area, Miller said.

A 22-year-old sex offender was found to have violated Megan's Law statutes after police caught him groping a woman on a Bayonne street, authorities said.
Tariq Baker, of Bayonne, approached the female victim around 3:05 p.m. Monday, July 8 and grabbed her buttocks on East 50th Street, Bayonne Police Detective Sgt. William Dundas said.

A newly-hired volunteer ambulance driver and landscaper from Passaic County is facing child porn charges out of Illinois involving two 13-year-old children, authorities said.
Victor E. Meza Valdez, 26, of Ringwood, was arrested on June 20, by detectives with the Passaic County Sheriff's Office on a warrant out of McHenry County, IL, Acting Passaic County Sheriff Gary Gairdina said.
