Mismatched License Plates Lead To Gun Arrest In Newark: Sheriff A Georgia man was arrested at Weequahic Park in Newark on weapons offenses, including possession of illegal ammunition, Essex County Sheriff Armando Fontoura said.  Coy Jones, 64, of Calhoun, was parked on the Rt. 22 service road around 11:15 a.m. Sunday. Sheriff's officers approached his Ford pickup when they noticed the vehicle had a Texas license plate in the front and a Georgia plate in the back, Fontoura said.  Calhoun told officers he had a loaded .40-caliber Smith and Wesson handgun in a driver's side door compartment.
