At 8 p.m., officers were alerted to a report of a stolen vehicle traveling south on Route 1, Captain Christopher Guenther of the Linden Police said. The car suddenly came to a stop at Avenue C and Tijohn Cato, 30, and Samiya Medina, 34 were arrested and taken into custody, Guenther said. East Orange Teen Attempted Vehicle Break-In: Linden Police A 19-year-old East Orange man was arrested and charged with attempting to break into a parked vehicle in Linden on Wednesday, June 14, Capt. Christopher Guenther said. Police responded to the 900 block of Bacheller Avenue at around noon after a witness observed Tariq Frye walk up to the driveway of a nearby home and attempt to enter a car parked in the driveway, Guenther said. Frye was seen walking on E. Edgar Road and after a short investigation, he was placed under arrest, Guenther said. Man, 26, Shot In Linden (Photos) A 26-year-old man was shot in the abdomen in Linden on the afternoon of Thursday, May 4, authorities said. Officers responded to the 10 block of N. Wood Ave and located the victim, who suffered a single gunshot wound, Captain Christopher Guenther said. The victim was treated on scene and transported to Newark University Hospital, Guenther said. The incident remains under investigation by the Linden Police Detective Bureau. Anyone with information is urged to contact Det. Family members pulled the boy from the pool on the 400 block of McKinley Street in Linden and immediately began CPR on Sunday, July 31, Linden Police Capt. Christopher Guenther said. The boy was rushed to Trinitas Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Gunman Arrested In Weekend Linden Shooting, Police Say A 33-year-old gunman was arrested following a Linden shooting Sunday evening, authorities announced. Ramon Perez Jr shot the 44-year-old Rahway victim on the 500 block of Union Street around 3:40 p.m., Linden Police Lt. Christopher Guenther said. The victim was treated on scene, then transported to Newark University Hospital. He was last listed in stable condition.
