Two men wanted for beating attendants during a two-day spree of quick-stop armed gas station robberies in three New Jersey counties were captured by federal agents, authorities said. Ex-con Ahmad Singletary, 24, and Joseph Young, 26, both of Newark, committed three of the robberies last Sept. 5, U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger said. A Freightliner driver was hospitalized after being rear-ended by an SUV in a crash that closed a portion of Route 80 closed for several hours on Tuesday morning, Dec. 26, state police said. The crash occurred on the westbound side near milepost 22.4 in Allamuchy just before 8 a.m., New Jersey State Police Trooper Troy McNair told Daily Voice. One Killed In Car Crash: Linden Police
A 77-year-old Linden man was killed in a car crash on Tuesday, Oct. 3, police said. Police responded to N Wood Avenue and West Gibbons Street after a GMC SUV making a lefthand turn collided with a Chevy SUV, officers said.. Robert Pozanski, the driver of the GMC was transported to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries, police said. An Englewood man faces 30 years to life in prison after jurors in Hackensack convicted him of murder for a second time for shooting an aspiring rapper and then setting his body on fire. Randy Manning was originally found guilty and sentenced to life in 2014 for killing Rhian “Kampane” Stoute in Englewood three years earlier. Car Carrier Erupts In Flames On NJ Turnpike
A car carrier that burst into flames jammed the NJ Turnpike Tuesday, Nov. 8 in Essex County. Three Cadillac Escalades, a Cadillac XT6 and a Chevy Equinox were damaged in the blaze in the right shoulder of the northbound side of the eastern spur near milepost 107.5 around 12:30 p.m., New Jersey State Police said. Newark firefighters put out the fire, which was deemed non-suspicious, authorities said. No injuries reported.
