These 27 NJ Boston Market Stores Have Reopened After Failing To Pay 314 Workers
The 27 Boston Market stores in New Jersey that were issued stop work orders last month for failing to pay hundreds of employees have reopened. It gets better, the workers have been compensated. The chicken chain became the center of an investigation by the state's labor department when East Hanover employee Cathy Grimes reported that she and the dozen workers she managed hadn't been paid for two months, the DOL said. A 20-year-old man from Essex County was arrested with a stolen car and weapons, authorities said. On Wednesday, Feb. 1, at 10:11 p.m., Essex County Sheriff’s Officers arrested Basir North, of Orange, for resisting arrest by flight, unlawful possession of a handgun, and receiving stolen property among other charges. 93-Year-Old Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Car In East Orange
A 93-year-old man was struck and killed by a vehicle in East Orange, authorities said. Earnest Green was struck at the intersection of South Arlington Avenue and Central Avenue around 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens II and East Orange Police Chief Phyllis Bindi said. Green was taken to University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 12:31 a.m. Sunday. Man Struck Outside East Orange Nightclub In Hit-Run Dies Days Later: Prosecutor
The man struck in a hit-and-run crash outside of an East Orange nightclub early this month has died, authorities said. Aaryn Terry was found suffering serious injuries on the 400 block of Central Avenue outside of Mr. G's nightclub around 2:10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 1, according to the Essex County Prosecutor's Office. He was rushed to University Hospital in Newark, where he reportedly died Thursday, Aug. 4, the ECPO said.

Montclair Man Seriously Injured In East Orange Hit-Run
A 40-year-old man was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash over the weekend in East Orange, authorities said. The crash occurred on the 400 block of Central Avenue around 1:25 a.m. Sunday, July 31, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens said. Prosecutor: Pedestrian, 62, Killed In East Orange Crosswalk
A 62-year-old Orange woman was killed while crossing the street in East Orange, authorities said. Lucia Saint-Vil was crossing at South Harrison and Central Avenue when a 71-year-old driver hit her in the crosswalk around 9:50 p.m., Wednesday, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II said. The driver stayed at the scene and was issued four tickets for careless driving, failing to stop to allow a pedestrian to cross in a marked crosswalk, and two violations for tinted windows, authorities said.
