A Paramus resident who poured gasoline into a garbage pail to burn paper ended up burning himself, authorities said. The 54-year-old Nevada Street resident was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center after the pile exploded, burning his arm, around noontime Thursday, Dec. 29, Deputy Police Chief Robert M. Residents Hospitalized With Burns In Paterson Fire
Two residents suffered burns in a mid-afternoon fire that ravaged a Paterson home, responders said. Temperatures broke 90 and the heat index reached triple figures Sunday during the fast-moving upper-floor blaze at the 2½-story wood-frame house on Madison Avenue. Firefighters were forced into an exterior attack about 45 minutes after they arrived. A neighboring home was also damaged in the three-alarmer. An outpouring of support was shown for 11-year-old Ryan Jastrzembski after most of his body was burned in an accident during a backyard bonfire in Mount Laurel. Jersey City Woman Burns Half Her Body In Cooking Accident
A Jersey City woman suffered burns to nearly 50 percent of her body in a cooking accident earlier this week. The 30-year-old victim was rushed to Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston with life-threatening injuries around 6:55 p.m. June 14, city officials said. Newark Firefighters Hospitalized With Burns Battling 2-Alarm House Blaze
Two Newark firefighters were hospitalized with burns in a two-alarm fire Friday night. The blaze broke out at the vacant, 2.5-story home at 29 Leslie St., bringing nearly 80 firefighters to the scene around 11:40 p.m., Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose said. Cooking Accident Sends Hackensack Woman To Hospital
A Hackensack woman was hospitalized Thursday after a pressure cooker exploded, responders said. The 60-something victim was alert and talking with city firefighters and paramedics after the morning mishap on Euclid Avenue, they said. She was taken by ambulance to Hackensack University Medical Center with with burns on her hands and face that weren't considered life-threatening.
