Girl, 8, Struck By Car In Newark: Police An 8-year-old girl was struck by a vehicle in Newark on the afternoon of Thursday, Jan. 11, authorities said. At 3:03 p.m., police responded to Broadway and 2nd Avenue and transported the girl to University Hospital for treatment, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. The child is in stable condition, Fragé said. The driver remained at the scene and the incident remains under investigation, Fragé said.
