Bloomfield Burglar Hit At Least 3 Businesses, Tried To Flee In Taxi: Police A Newark man has been charged in a series of smash-and-grab burglaries in Bloomfield Sunday, police said.  Responding to an activated alarm at John's Deli on West Passaic Avenue, police discovered that the glass front door had been smashed with a rock and that $200 had been taken from the cash register.  As officers checked around the building, they saw that the front door to another business, Prissy Paws, had been damaged.
