Because of a predicted storm that may leave parts of the state under eight inches of snow or more on Monday, several school districts in Hudson and Essex counties are operating under an altered schedule, with many districts planning early dismissals. After a wintry mix Sunday, additional snow was expected throughout the day Monday.
Below is a list of school districts and planned schedule changes for Monday, Dec. 2. Please note that this list may be updated and therefore not all affected school districts may be listed at any given time.
UPDATE, Dec.2: A number of school districts that had announced early dismissals Sunday night have now announced there will be no classes at all on Monday, Dec. 2. Please check with your district for the latest information.
Belleville Public Schools: 12:35 p.m. dismissal (elementary); 12:15 (Belleville High School); 1:02 (Belleville Middle School)
Bloomfield Public Schools: 1 p.m. dismissal
Caldwell-West Caldwell: Early dismissal schedule
Cedar Grove Public Schools: 12:30 p.m. dismissal
East Orange Public Schools: Half-day schedule
Fairfield Public Schools: 12:55 p.m. dismissal
Livingston Public Schools: Early dismissal schedule
Newark Public Schools: 1 p.m. dismissal
Pingry School, Short Hills: Closed
Union City Public Schools: 12:45 p.m. dismissal
Verona Public Schools: Early dismissal
Weehawken Public Schools: Early dismissal 12:10 (prek, kindergarten); 12:20 p.m. (1st and 2nd grades); 12:25 p.m. (grades 3-12); lunch will be served
