Brian F. Wright, a 31-year-old East Orange resident, entered the station on McCarter Highway around 1:30 a.m Tuesday. The shirtless Wright demanded a specific amount in cash and repeatedly punched the station employee until another worker gave Wright the cash he asked for, police said.

Wright, who police said was seen on surveillance video, was arrested Wednesday at his workplace in East Orange. He has been charged with robbery and aggravated assault. Wright was also wanted on an outstanding warrant.

“This was good, quick work by our robbery squad,” Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose said.
