Seen HIM? Man Accused Of Nearly Running Over Newark Police Officer

Police in Newark have issued a warrant for the arrest of a man accused of assault on a police officer May 14.

Officers responded to the 100 block of South 6th Street for a domestic violence call around 3:45 p.m. Arriving officers saw two men fighting, officials said. 

When Leon Harris, 34, noticed the officers, he got into a black Nissan Sentra and took off, nearly hitting an officer, according to police. 

Harris is  5’9” tall and 220 lbs. with a medium brown complexion, black hair and brown eyes. He also has a tattoo on his right arm that reads "R.I.P."
